75 uranium and nuclear-related securities including ETFs, utilities and suppliers. Data through October 9, 2026.
1. Long-term breadth remains severely impaired
Only 12 of 72 securities with valid data (16.7%) trade above their 200-day moving average. On the 71-security matched sample, breadth declined from 28.2% to 15.5% over four weeks, a 12.7-percentage-point contraction. Weekly performance was broadly negative: 49 declined, 19 advanced and seven were unchanged. The median return of −2.33% improved from −4.82% a week earlier, but still reflects widespread weakness.
2. Drawdowns continue to deepen
The median 52-week drawdown widened from −44.0% to −45.4%. Of 72 valid observations, 57 (79.2%) are more than 30% below their 52-week highs and 34 (47.2%) more than 50% below. Median drawdown over each security's available history is −81.1%, versus −79.7% a week earlier. Available histories differ in length, so this measure is not a uniform lifetime comparison.
3. Heavy-volume selling has eased
Median five-session relative volume rose slightly to 1.02×. The median signed 20-session volume balance improved from −25.2% to −18.9%. Securities declining on relative volume of at least 1.5× fell from 14 to just one. Yet only four securities advanced on similarly elevated volume and just 16 of 75 (21.3%) registered a positive signed volume balance. Less intense selling is not the same as broad accumulation.
4. Relative performance offers little confirmation
Only 15 of 75 (20.0%) outperformed the S&P 500 over the latest week, seven of 75 (9.3%) over four weeks and 18 of 74 (24.3%) over three months. Berkeley Energia rose 44.6% this week, while Piche Resources fell 17.6% and Peninsula Energy lost 16.3%. These extremes reflect dispersion, not broad sector leadership.
5. What would confirm stabilization?
A sustained improvement in MA200 breadth, a reduction in deep drawdowns, more advancing securities on elevated volume and stronger relative performance would make the evidence more constructive. The current reduction in selling pressure does not establish a market bottom.

Methodology and data notes
Figures reflect the October 9 weekly scanner and available historical observations. MA200 breadth comparisons use a matched sample; drawdown metrics exclude invalid observations. Relative volume and signed volume balance summarize trading participation but do not independently establish buying intent. ETFs and securities from different exchanges appear in the supplied universe; rankings should not be interpreted as single-currency price comparisons. Read the Methodology & Interpretation guide.
